What do you give to your 1 year old child to play with if you have a 2 hour journey on a train?
I will help you out.
Remember that while you travel you have to maximise the space so keep things minimalistic.
- NUMBER ONE: A BOOK
Your child is a genius and you know it. Give him/her a good old fashioned book. A picture book would be ideal, with nice big pretty colour pictures and words he/ she can already read by himself. Remember he/she can read. Look at me I am only 11 months old and I blog!
Your baby is a genius, trust me. I know lots of other babies and we are all geniuses.
- NUMBER TWO: STACKING TOYS
The stacking toys are colourful, manageable and small. Avoid taking the whole set though. Just choose one of the stacking cups and do not loose it. The reason for taking it would be to allow your 1 year old to bash anything including the man with the nice suit sat next to him, and make noise.
- NUMBER THREE: THE CUDDLY TOY
The cuddly toy of course is a must. Again make sure it fits your bag as it has to be small enough to fit into my mouth like Peppa Pig. (In your case “in your baby’s mouth”)
- NUMBER FOUR: THE TECHNOLOGICAL SINGING TOY
Nowadays there are loads of singing toys on the market. Take one of them with you for your trip. Make sure of 3 things 1) you will not be embarrassed by the singing toy in the train and you will avoid gazing at the other annoyed passenger especially the man in the suit next to you. 2) take a small singing toy not a huge one that will fill your bag. 3)make sure it is one of your baby’s favourite ones.
My favourite one is this one, I know it is pretty, small and soft. I love it.
NUMBER FIVE: OTHER CHILDREN
The thing I love the most after my Mommy, My Daddy, My Grandpa and my Grandma are other children. So why don’t you stroll along the train carriage and let your baby look at other children. He will love it and you will have 10 minutes of peace.
NUMBER SIX: THE MAN IN THE SUIT
He has a nice tie, hasn’t he? Let your baby play with it. Pretend you do not see. What do you prefer the man in suit being a bit annoyed? Or you with a headache because your baby screams to reach for the tie while you try to prevent him.
NUMBER SEVEN: YOU- PARENTS
You are the best toy he/ she will ever have. Play with your baby as much as you can while he/she is young. We will always remember and will love you forever.
Note to Mommy and Daddy: Thank you for being my best toy. I love you.
