Travelling with a baby by train

This week we took the train to London: Just Mommy and I. This was an adventure! A great adventure. We travelled for a whole 4 hours on wheels! You know like the bus on wheels.

In the train, Mommy and I were sat next to a man with a tie and a nice suit just like my daddy. The man next to us looked rather serious although he kept playing with his computer just like daddy did. It was the game “Word document“. The goal was to delete as many letters quickly as possible. I was pretty good at it.

The serious man in suit also had lots and lots of papers with numbers written on them that he put next to me just for me to read them. I like reading, although I am only a 11 months baby.  At first, I kept pulling his shirt. He liked that, he liked it a lot I could tell because he kept pushing my hand away when I tried to press the delete button of his computer, just like my daddy always did.  And my daddy loves me a lot, he always tells it to me.

After a while, I decided the game was a little boring so I quickly grabbed a piece of paper next to me with numbers on it.  ”Oh no” he shouted.

Yes! I won again the game. Mommy was busy reading “How to raise your children perfectly!” she raised her nose and said “Put the papers down! They are not yours!”

I opened wide my eyes and raised my eyebrows. No need to shout Mommy. I smiled. I know deep down Mommy liked also playing, so I put the papers quickly in my mouth. I liked reading.

I didn’t know why Mommy kept saying sorry. It was obvious the serious man in the suit liked playing with me.  That’s why he put papers next to me. Then the man put away his computer to play peek-a-boo with me. He pretended to read his papers with numbers but I knew he and I were playing peek-a-boo secretly from Mommy. So I kept laughing and laughing and laughing looking at him. He found it so funny he put his papers away in his black bag and pretended to focus on the window. I liked this new game: Pretending he could not see me. I loved this game.

So I laughed and laughed and laughed. Then I grabbed quickly his glasses and threw them on the floor. I won again! A dog appeared out of nowhere and ate them. I loved this game!

Mommy kept apologising.

The man smiled “It’s ok he is so cute! It’s not his fault he is just a baby!”

I know I am cute. Thank you. I am a cute baby.

Then he stood up and went to the toilet. What I found rather bizarre was that he left with his suitcase and his little black bag and his computer. He also kept walking with his hand in front of him like he could not see.

Note to Mommy: Thank you Mommy for taking me in a train. I love playing peek-a-boo in the train.

Travelling with baby:Hull to Paris via Zeebruge_ Part 1

Last month we travelled to Paris. We took the ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge, and then we drove to Paris.

This trip started well, better than on a plane trip. First, I slept up to Hull docks, I dreamed of Paris. Then we boarded a big boat: The Ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge, all of that from my carseat.  When we got in our cabin, Mommy and Daddy were ecstatic: We were in the luxury cabin with four fruits just for us: Two bananas and two apples. I have never seen such luxury!

Mommy and Daddy then took me to the toddler play area of the ferry. It was colourful with lots of toys and cushions. I played with Mommy and Daddy. Then a little boy barged in the play area and screamed. I watched him, maybe he was in pain, but he was not; he was actually screaming while kicking the cushions and bashing his head against the toys.

Mommy, Daddy and I, we, watched him with our mouths wide open. Mommy actually took me in her arms and formed a barrier with her hands to protect me from him. This was exciting! Then his mum came into the play area carrying a little baby.

“Now calm down!” She said.  The screaming little boy turned around and ran towards his mother, then suddenly jumped to headbutt the little baby she was carrying. To headbutt his own baby brother! Exciting hey!  The mother just had time to put the little innocent tiny baby above her head. The screaming toddler’s head landed in her stomach, knocking the wind out of her. She lost her equilibrium and my super Daddy caught the innocent baby just in time before he hit the ground. The baby smiled at my Daddy, happy with his little fairground ride.

Everybody sighed with relief except the screaming little boy who cried, with real tears. His mum went to him and hugged him. “There Mommy is here, stop crying. I love you. Shh..” And she rocked him with her right arm and tried to catch his baby brother with her left arm, thanking my super Daddy at the same time with her eyes.

My eyes were wide open! What a trip, this ferry Hull-Zeebruge was eventful! It was better than any playgroup I have ever been too. So much drama, love and madness. All in one!

Then the father of the the screaming baby and his brother appeared out of nowhere. He took the baby out of my Daddy’s hand delicately , put the crying toddler casually on his shoulder and kissed his wife with love who followed him without making a sound.

Question for fellow babies: Are all Daddies supermen like my Daddy?

Note to Daddy: I love you Super Daddy.

Note to fellow babies: If you want adventure take the ferry!
